Dr. Pierre Ricaud’s
commitments
Our Laboratoires – under the direction of Anne Clément, doctor of pharmacy– have selected with great care the raw materials that go into our products, submitting them to rigorous tests of tolerance and efficacy.
Our formulas are tested on cellular cultures, never on animals. The finished products are then used by volunteers in real-use conditions, in order to validate both their effectiveness and tolerance (2000 women a year participate in these tests, under dermatological supervision).
Certain finished products that require it are protected by proven, time-tested preservatives whose harmlessness is guaranteed and regularly reevaluated by independent scientific authorities around the world.
How are our products preserved?
Certain Dr. Pierre Ricaud products do not require preservatives because their formula is resistant to the spread of bacteria. This is the case in lipsticks, for example.
For formulas that require preservatives, Dr. Pierre Ricaud uses a short list of preservatives, among which are parabens, most known for their effectiveness and harmlessness. They are integrated into our formulas in doses that are perfectly adapted to the conservation of the products.
Parabens are components that are extremely common in their natural state. They are found in fruits and vegetables, but are also produced by the human body, where they participate in cellular functioning.
Parabens are preservatives authorised by the European Cosmetics Directive and by the French Agency for the Safety of Health Products, and traditionally used in cosmetics to limit the spread of bacteria linked to the normal use of a product.
